2020 has been a pretty weird year, but as many artists spend more time at home, it seems they’re more focused on making new music and we’re all here for it.

Here are some of our favorite picks from recently released tracks by some of the hottest talents from around the region.

1) KARROUHAT - Cyborg in My Feelings

One of the most inventing producers/artists on the scene right now, Karrouhat once again switches gears and gives us this delightfully bizarre mechanical groove that still has touches of those Levant-inspired synths and percussions.

2) ARABSTRACT - mafi

The long-anticipated official first release from Abrastract – the Bahraini duo fusing elements of electronica, prog rock and Khaleeji vibes – is well worth the wait.

The electronic duo drop their debut track and it’s got all the hallmarks of a banger. Juicy beats, weird synths and spacey vocals. I mean, do we have to say more? Excited to see what else these guys throw at us!

4) XENAI - Everything is (feat. Shwe G)

A reflective slow number that will still have you sway to the wordplay of artist and rapper Xenai to a 90s-hip-hop inspired beat. This is the perfect antidote for the madness of the coronavirus times.

5) ANA.N7N - Esh Saweet

The mysterious music project Ana.n7n describes itself as a collection of “musicians and storytellers”, fusing Arabic with a multi-layered approach to music composition, from nu-metal to prog rock. The end result is an impactful, yet playful, jam in ‘Esh Saweet’ (what did I do)

You can hear all these songs and more in the recently launched MuseMix playlist by Museland on Spotify. The playlist series will be updated with new songs from the region every month.
